The Legislative Council (LegCo) Subcommittee on Matters Relating to Railways conducted a site visit to MTR Shatin Freight Yard and Racecourse Station today (January 10) to better understand the works progress of retrofitting automatic platform gates at East Rail Line stations.
LegCo Members first observed the mock-up of platform strengthening works at Shatin Freight Yard and received a briefing on the works progress of retrofitting automatic platform gates at East Rail Line stations by the General Manager of MTR Corporation, Mr Lee Tsz-man. Members then toured the Racecourse Station to get to know more about the platform modification works.
Subcommittee members participating in the site visit included the Chairman of the Subcommittee, Mr Michael Tien; Mr Wong Kwok-hing and Dr Elizabeth Quat.
