Immigration Department launches mobile application (with photos)
*********************************************************

The Immigration Department (ImmD) launched the Hong Kong Immigration Mobile Application (ImmD Mobile App) today (December 5) for Hong Kong residents and visitors to obtain information on estimated passenger waiting time at all land boundary control points and other ImmD information anytime, anywhere.

Estimated passenger waiting time assessments will be updated about every 15 minutes. The application aims to serve as a reference for Hong Kong residents and visitors so that they can choose a less congested land boundary control point or period of time to travel in order to shorten their waiting time.

"This mobile application enables Hong Kong residents and visitors to check the estimated waiting time of all land boundary control points at any time or place. Then they can plan their trips effectively and save time queuing up at control points," an ImmD spokesman said.

The ImmD Mobile App also provides information on the addresses and office hours of all ImmD offices and control points, the visa-free country list for HKSAR passport holders, visit visa or entry permit application requirements for visitors to the HKSAR, the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents 24-hour hotline, and Chinese embassy, consulate, mission and representative office lists.

The ImmD Mobile App can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store (supports iOS version 4.3 or above) or Google Play (supports Android version 2.2 or above). The link for downloading can also be found on the ImmD website, www.immd.gov.hk.

For enquiries or comments on the service, please call the enquiry hotline at 2824 6111 or send an email to enquiry@immd.gov.hk.
