The latest edition of "This is Hong Kong" is now available as an attractive multimedia mobile app for iPads, iPhones, Android tablets and Android phones.

The handy resource shows Hong Kong's great variety, including its scenic hiking trails, amazing rock formations and huge biodiversity alongside a bustling international finance, trading, tourism and transport hub with impressive skyscrapers. It also offers information about the city's economy, profiles of local people who have achieved world fame, and interesting trivia.

The booklet is particularly useful for potential visitors to Hong Kong and local residents who would like to introduce the city to relatives and friends abroad or across the border. The app can also help users access a wealth of information on Hong Kong's unique characteristics and competitiveness.

When a user clicks the Virtual Reality function and then a place of interest, the place will come into view. If a place of interest covered in the booklet is within 300 metres of the user, an icon pops up. Another click will bring up the information on that particular place.

Produced by the Information Services Department, "This is Hong Kong" is themed on the city's core attributes, showing what makes Hong Kong a diverse, dynamic and cosmopolitan city closely connected to the rest of Asia and the world while offering a secure environment to live and work.

"This is Hong Kong" is also available in a web-based version for online browsing. Hyperlinks in all electronic versions lead users to websites on aspects of particular interest - city festivals, theme parks, universities, museums, sports and arts events, local transport and many more.
