Fourteen building plans approved in September

     The Buildings Department approved 14 building plans in September, with one on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, nine were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, two were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial developments and two were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 11 building projects that, when completed, will provide 150 332 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 452 units, and 31 051 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received two notification of commencement of work for two building projects.

     The department also issued 19 occupation permits, with six on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and 10 in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 196 649 square metres, involving 2 764 units, and 108 553 square metres was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in September totalled about $6.1 billion.

     In addition, nine demolition consents involving nine building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 956 reports about unauthorised building works in September, and issued 962 removal orders on unauthorised works.
