The Steering Committee on Population Policy (SCPP) launched the four-month public engagement exercise on population policy on October 24. To gauge the views of the public, the SCPP will hold three public forums.

In addition to the invited members of the local community, other members of the public are also welcome to register for and attend the public forums. The registration arrangements have already been posted on the thematic website (www.hkpopulation.gov.hk/public_engagement/en/).

The first public forum will take place at Leighton Hill Community Hall, 133 Wong Nai Chung Road, Happy Valley, on November 16 (Saturday) at 3pm.

The second public forum will be held at On Ting/Yau Oi Community Centre, On Ting Estate, Tuen Mun, on November 30 (Saturday) at 3pm.

The third public forum will be held at Yau Tong Community Hall, 38 Ko Chiu Road, Yau Tong, on January 25 (Saturday) at 3pm.

A spokesman for the Secretariat of the SCPP today (October 31) said that members of the public interested in attending the first public forum may register by telephone (hotline: 2114 4957) or email (forum@hkpopulation.gov.hk) starting from 9am tomorrow (November 1). The deadline for registration is 6pm on November 8. Each registered person can reserve up to two seats on a first-come, first-served basis.
