Appeal for information on abandoned baby boy (with photos)

     Police are anxious to locate the next-of-kin of a baby boy who was found abandoned in Wong Tai Sin today (October 14).

     At about 4.50am, Police received a report that a baby was found abandoned in a sitting out area opposite to 113 Shatin Pass Road.

     Police sped to scene and found the newborn baby boy on a bench wrapped in a yellow scarf. Initial examination revealed that the baby, with an umbilical cord attached, is a newborn boy.

     The baby boy, sustaining no apparent injuries, was admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for observation.

     Investigations by the District Investigation Team of Wong Tai Sin are proceeding.

     Police urge his relatives or anyone who has information to offer, to contact the investigating officers on 2352 9355 or duty officers of Wong Tai Sin Police Station on 2352 9400.
