SHA discusses HK-Russia youth exchange programme (with photos)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, met with the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Mr Veniamin Kaganov, in Moscow today (October 10, Moscow time) to explore the possibility of starting youth exchanges between Hong Kong and Russia.

     He said, "Hong Kong has always attached great importance to promoting youth exchanges with the international community. The Home Affairs Bureau and the Commission on Youth jointly organise the International Youth Exchange Programme to provide opportunities for youths to have direct exchanges with their counterparts in other countries, broadening their horizons and gaining an international perspective.

     "The year 2014-15 will be the China-Russia Year of Youth Exchanges. As part of China, Hong Kong is very interested in establishing a youth exchange programme with Russia."

     In the evening, Mr Tsang will attend a concert by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra. He will conclude his visit to Moscow tomorrow (October 11, Moscow time) and return to Hong Kong on Saturday (October 12).
