Appointments to Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health

     The Government announced today (September 27) the appointment of Dr Susie Lum Shun-sui as a new member of the Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health.

     In addition, four serving non-official members are re-appointed. They are Dr Johnnie Chan Chi-kau, Dr Daisy Dai Siu-kwan, Dr David Sun Yee-wha and Mr Jackson Wong Fan-foung.

     All the appointments will be effective from October 1, 2013, for a two-year term.

     The Hong Kong Council on Smoking and Health is an independent statutory body established in 1987 to advise the Government on matters related to smoking and health. It is also tasked with advancing public education concerning the effects of smoking on the community and individuals as well as to engage in smoking-related research.

     The full membership of the Council with effect from October 1, 2013, is as follows:
