Secretary for Justice to visit London

     The Secretary for Justice, Mr Rimsky Yuen, SC, will visit London from September 25 to 27 to promote Hong Kong as a centre for international legal and dispute resolution services in the Asia Pacific region.

     Mr Yuen will meet with officials of the major legal and arbitration bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the London Maritime Arbitrators Association, the Bar Council, the Law Society of England and Wales, and the Law Commission.

     Mr Yuen will also call on the legal and judicial officials of the United Kingdom, including the Ministry of Justice, the Attorney General's Office, the Supreme Court, and the Judiciary of England and Wales, to discuss issues of mutual interest.

     In the evening of September 26 (London time), Mr Yuen will attend a forum hosted by the Hong Kong Association and deliver a speech entitled "The Crucial Role of Hong Kong's Legal and Dispute Resolution Services in making it a Global Centre for Finance and Commerce".

     Before departing for Hong Kong in the evening of September 27 (London time), Mr Yuen will meet with Hong Kong students in the United Kingdom.
