The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, leading a delegation of Permanent Secretaries and Heads of Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government (HKSARG) departed for Taizhou City in Jiangsu province yesterday afternoon (September 12) after concluding their advanced national studies and visit programme in Beijing.
This morning (September 13), the delegation first toured the Taizhou National Medical Hi-tech Development Zone and a local pharmaceutical company to inspect the manufacturing process. They then attended a luncheon hosted by the Party Secretary of Taizhou, Mr Zhang Lei, and were briefed by officials of Taizhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission on the latest developments in the province.
Later, the delegation proceeded to the Nantong Museum - China's first public museum - with nearly 50,000 pieces of collection, mainly reflecting the local culture.
Mr Tang and the delegation will later visit a residential community in Qidong's Nancheng District called Century Homeland, which was awarded the title of "Jiangsu's Green Community". Officials from both sides will exchange views on its environmental design and energy-saving facilities.
