Four Gig Heads percussion concerts to deliver new theatre experience
**********************************************************

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, Four Gig Heads Percussion Group will stage its "that's how we 'Roll'" concerts in October.

The extraordinary shows will deliver a new experience in theatrical stage, lighting and audio design. The programme of Chinese and Western percussion pieces will include a wide variety of traditional and contemporary music, as well as Japanese-style compositions and re-arranged classical works. The programme will include Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads' "Five Ascetics" (world premiere), Mantle Hood's "Implosion", Jeff Berlin's "Bach", Yamazawa Hiroyuki's "Kalimba", and more.

Four Gig Heads Percussion Group was founded in 1998 by local percussionists. The aim of the group is to promote percussion music of both Eastern and Western genres. The members also compose and arrange percussion music themselves to expand new dimensions for music as well as create a unique cultural form for Hong Kong. The group has often been invited to various types of cultural performances in Hong Kong and abroad, including performances at arts festivals in London, the Philippines and Berlin. It was also a guest performer at the Cannes Film Festival.

In the concerts, Four Gig Heads will perform with Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads, which is a group of trained young percussionists. Made in Hong Kong @ Four Gig Heads was formed in 2007. The Director of Four Gig Heads, Fu Ye-chung, provides professional training and management to its young members.
