The Judiciary today (August 30) announced the appointment of the Honourable Mr Justice Johnson Lam Man-hon, Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court, as Vice-President of the Court of Appeal of the High Court with effect from September 2, 2013.
The biographical note of the Honourable Mr Justice Lam is as follows:
The Honourable Mr Justice Lam was born in Hong Kong in 1961. He obtained an LL.B. and P.C.LL. from the University of Hong Kong in 1983 and 1984 respectively. He was called to the Bar in Hong Kong in 1984 and was in private practice since 1985 until he joined the Judiciary as District Judge in 2001. He was appointed as Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2003 and Justice of Appeal of the Court of Appeal of the High Court in 2012.
With effect from September 2, 2013, the Honourable Mr Justice Thomas Au Hing-cheung, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court, will be appointed as the Judge in charge of the Constitutional and Administrative Law List of the High Court vice the Honourable Mr Justice Lam. On the same date, the Honourable Madam Justice Mimmie Chan Mei-lan, Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court, will be appointed as the Judge in charge of the Construction and Arbitration List of the High Court vice the Honourable Mr Justice Au.
