Employer fined for violation of safety rule

     Bak Ling Enterprises Limited was fined $80,000 at Eastern Magistrates' Courts today (August 23) for violation of the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance. The prosecution was launched by the Labour Department.

     The case involved a fatal accident that occurred on January 29 this year in Central, in which a worker fell to his death from the top of a lift machine room onto the roof of a building while reinforcing a TV antenna.
