Special traffic and transport arrangements for Hong Kong Book Fair 2013

     The Transport Department (TD) today (July 17) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented this Friday (July 19) and Saturday (July 20) to facilitate the extension of opening hours of the Hong Kong Book Fair 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) on those two days.

     The special traffic and transport arrangements will include:

* The slow lane of Expo Drive westbound underneath HKCEC Phase II and the slow lane of the section of Expo Drive East northbound between Expo Drive and Expo Drive Central will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9pm on July 19 and 20 to 1am of the following day (except for franchised buses);

* The last sailing of the "Star" Ferry service between Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui will be extended to 11.30pm on July 19 and 20. The headway of the ferry service will also be enhanced to 8 to 12 minutes between 8pm and 11.30pm; and

* Two special cross-harbour bus routes, 105R (to Mei Foo) and 111R (to Yue Man Square, Kwun Tong), will be operated by the bus companies from HKCEC Phase II at Expo Drive from 10pm on July 19 and 20 to 1am of the following day. The headway will be 10 to 15 minutes with a fare charged at $15.5.
