Appointments to Women's Commission announced

     The Government today (July 12) announced the appointment of Ms Juan Leung Chung-yan as a member to the Women's Commission (WoC) for the period from July 15, 2013 to January 14, 2015 to fill the position left vacant by Ms Lee Lai-ching who resigned from the Commission.

     Ms Leung is an Executive District Manager of an insurance company.  She also has rich experience in public services and women's affairs.

     The WoC was set up on January 15, 2001, as a central mechanism to promote the well-being and interests of women in Hong Kong. It plays a strategic role in advising the Government on policies and initiatives on women's issues.

     The membership list of the WoC with effect from July 15, 2013 is as follows:
