Assistance provided to Hong Kong victims in industrial accident in Guangzhou

     Regarding an industrial accident in which two Hong Kong residents died and one Hong Kong resident was seriously injured at a construction site in Zhujiang New Town in Tianhe District, Guangzhou yesterday (July 3) afternoon, immigration staff of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) of the HKSAR Government immediately contacted family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents and proceeded to the local hospital last night to visit those family members to offer practical assistance upon learning of accident.   

     The injured was admitted to a local hospital for treatment. GDETO will continue to follow up on the incident and maintain contact with family members of the concerned Hong Kong residents to render practical assistance.
