     The Hospital Authority (HA) today (June 27) announced the appointment of Ms Clara Chin Sheung-Chi as Finance Director on the retirement of Ms Nancy Tse Sau-ling with effect from September 1, 2013.

     In welcoming Ms Clara Chin to her new role the HA Chairman, Mr Anthony Wu, paid tribute to Ms Tse for her invaluable contribution to the HA. "Nancy has been a very important member of the senior management team. She has served all the Chairman and Chief Executives since HA came into being 22 years ago and everyone sings her praises.

     "She has given me wise counselling and her professionalism, dedication and passion for her job will certainly be missed," said Mr Wu.

     Ms Chin is currently the Chief Manager (Financial Advisory Service and Costing) of Finance Division in the HA Head Office.

     As a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of solid experience in a financial advisory capacity serving different prominent public organisations, Ms Chin joined the HA Head Office in 2004. In addition to overseeing the provision of financial management services supporting financial planning and resource management for the HA Head Office and the HA Information Technology Services, Ms Chin has made valuable contributions to the delivery of service costing to meet HA's management information needs for accountability reporting, resource planning and performance management. She also provides financial advisory services supporting the development and implementation of various services initiatives, including the HA Filmless Project.

     Internally for the Finance Division function, Ms Chin is the key focal point for the professional development of the finance workforce in the HA, with an aim of building a competent and highly engaged team.

     The HA Chief Executive, Dr Leung Pak-yin, also congratulated Ms Chin on her new appointment, and extended his sincere gratitude to Ms Tse for her valuable contribution in building a solid foundation in the financial management and information technology services of public healthcare over the past 20 years. "She has also devoted substantial attention and efforts in developing the financial management capability of the new generation of leaders in the HA," Dr Leung said.
