***********************************************************

The Sales of First-hand Residential Properties Authority (SRPA) announced today (May 31) that it would organise two workshops for vendors and stakeholders on the sale of first-hand residential properties, with a view to deepening their understanding of the implementation details of the Residential Properties (First-hand Sales) Ordinance (the Ordinance).

Since April 29, 2013 when the Ordinance came into full implementation, the SRPA has examined various sales brochures, price lists, documents containing sales arrangements, registers of transaction and advertisements made available by vendors of first-hand residential developments. It has also conducted site visits to various sales offices and show flats.

"The SRPA will share with vendors and stakeholders the SRPA's general observations and advice arising from examining the aforementioned documents and visiting those aforementioned premises," said a spokesman for the SRPA.

"The workshops will help vendors to be aware of areas they should pay particular attention to when preparing the aforementioned documents and operating the aforementioned premises," a spokesman for the SRPA said.

The workshops, to be held on June 20 and 27, will be conducted primarily in Cantonese.

Vendors of first-hand residential properties and stakeholders interested in attending the workshops are required to make a reservation from 9.30am on June 3 to 6pm on June 7 by calling 2233 9388, or register online via SRPA's website (www.srpa.gov.hk).
