The Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, today (May 26) took part in the "Share-To-Care Volunteer Campaign" organised by the Agency for Volunteer Service, visiting two grassroots families in Sham Shui Po together with volunteers. The visit is part of the "Hong Kong: Our Home" Campaign.

Mrs Lam first went to Pei Ho Street to visit a South-Asian family with six children to learn more about their living, education and employment situation. The family has been in Hong Kong for many years.

She then visited and chatted with an elderly couple who live in a sub-divided flat nearby.

The Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Paul Tang, and the Director of Social Welfare, Mr Patrick Nip, also participated in the volunteer campaign and visited needy families. The campaign formed part of "Hong Kong Positive Energy Day", with nearly 2,000 volunteers taking part. Volunteers went in teams to visit grassroots families in Sham Shui Po to foster public support for voluntary service and a caring community.
