Tenders awarded for two petrol filling station sites

     The Lands Department today (May 15) announced that tenders for two petrol filling stations have been awarded on 21-year land grants at a total premium of $317.776 million.

     Lot No. 1985 in Survey District No. 2 at Clear Water Bay Road, Sai Kung, New Territories was awarded to ExxonMobil Hong Kong Limited at $115.588 million, while Fanling Sheung Shui Town Lot No. 247 at Sha Tau Kok Road, Lung Yeuk Tau, Fanling, New Territories was awarded to Shell Hong Kong Limited at $202.188 million.

     "Authority from the Central Tender Board was given to the Lands Department to award the two sites to the highest tenderers," a Lands Department spokesman said.

     The successful tenders were submitted on an individual basis for the purchase of the two sites. These two sites are existing, re-tendered sites for the development of petrol filling stations.

     Five tenderers took part in the exercise, which produced a total of nine tenders - eight for the sites individually and one for the two sites collectively as a package.

     The tenderers, other than the successful tenderers, that tendered (individually or as a package) in respect of each lot and in alphabetical order, with the name of the parent company where provided by the tenderer in brackets, were:

(b) Fanling Sheung Shui Town Lot No. 247

(4) Sinopec (Hong Kong) Limited (China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation)
