S for S continues his visit in London (with photos)

     The Secretary for Security, Mr Lai Tung-kwok, continued his visit in London, where he met senior officials in the police and immigration authorities.

     On May 2 and 3 (London time), Mr Lai met with the Chair of United Kingdom Serious Organised Crime Agency, Sir Ian Andrews, and Assistant Commissioner at the Metropolitan Police, Mr Mark Rowley.

     At these meetings, Mr Lai told the officials that Hong Kong police had been working closely with their counterparts around the world, including the United Kingdom (UK), to crack down on transnational organised crime related activities including drug trafficking, money laundering and cyber crime. He looked forward to closer co-operation and enhanced exchanges between the law enforcement agencies of Hong Kong and the UK.

     Mr Lai also met with the Director of the Immigration and Border Policy Directorate of the Home Office, Mr Philip Duffy, where they exchanged views on matters of common concerns.

     During his stay in London, Mr Lai paid a courtesy call on the Minister Counsellor, Embassy of the Peopleˇ¦s Republic of China in the UK, Mr Cong Peiwu. Mr Lai also took chance to meet the Chinese community there, where they had a friendly exchange on the latest situation in Hong Kong.

     Mr Lai will proceed to visit Berlin from May 5 to 7.
