SEN to visit Korea to learn about waste management experience

     The Secretary for the Environment, Mr Wong Kam-sing, will depart for Seoul, Republic of Korea tomorrow (April 2) afternoon for a three-day visit to see how Hong Kong can learn from the Korean experience in various aspects of waste management, including waste reduction at source, recycling and waste treatment facilities.

     After arriving in Seoul, Mr Wong will visit a range of facilities, from waste charging and food waste recycling systems to source separation, recycling and treatment plants.

     Mr Wong will also call on the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea to learn about the vision, mission and strategies for waste management there, and visit a local green social enterprise to explore developments in this field.

     Mr Wong will conclude his visit and return to Hong Kong on Friday (April 5) evening.
