Andy Warhol exhibition extended to April 1
******************************************

The exhibition "Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal" now being held at the Hong Kong Museum of Art has been well received by the public. To enable more people to visit the exhibition during the Easter holiday, the museum, with the support of the Andy Warhol Museum, has extended the exhibition period until April 1. Those who have not yet seen the exhibition should grab this final chance to see Asia's largest display to date of Andy Warhol works.

Since its opening on December 16 last year, the exhibition has received over 210,000 visitors with an average daily attendance of about 2,700 visitors.

In view of this overwhelming response, the Hong Kong Museum of Art decided to extend the exhibition until April 1, allowing the public to take advantage of the four-day Easter holiday and grasp this rare opportunity.

Regarded as Asia's largest touring exhibition yet on the works of Andy Warhol, the exhibition showcases more than 400 artworks from the Andy Warhol Museum. Spanning the period from the 1950s to the 1980s these works, including paintings, drawings, photographs, screen prints, sculptures and films and videos, vividly depict the artistic life of the "King of the Pop Art".

Jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Andy Warhol Museum, the exhibition has been organised by the Andy Warhol Museum in collaboration with the Hong Kong Museum of Art, with BNY Mellon as the lead sponsor. The exhibition is also supported by other sponsors including Christie's, the Economist, and Bloomberg as the media sponsor. The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust is the sponsor of the exhibition's art appreciation programme.

Those who wish to gain a deeper understanding of Warhol's work and pop art at its height should not miss the guided tours arranged daily (from now until March 31) for visitors. For details of the guided tour schedule, please visit the website of the Hong Kong Museum of Art or the programme schedule posted at the museum lobby.

The Hong Kong Museum of Art is located at 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon. The opening hours for the "Andy Warhol: 15 Minutes Eternal" exhibition are from 10am to 8pm daily. The museum is closed on Thursdays (except public holidays). Admission to this exhibition is $20 on Monday, Tuesday and Friday to Sunday, and $10 on Wednesday. A half-price concession is available for full-time students, senior citizens and people with disabilities. Free admission is available for Museum Pass holders and children under 4 years of age.
