Correctional services officers stopped an assault of an inmate in Siu Lam Psychiatric Centre yesterday (March 15).
At about 6pm, the officers noticed that a 40-year-old male inmate attacked another male inmate, aged 56, with a ball pen. They immediately stopped the assault and subdued the attacker.
The victim, who suffered minor head injury and was conscious, was sent to the centre hospital for treatment.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
The attacker was serving sentences for offences of indecent assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, while the victim was serving sentence for an offence of indecent assault.
