A series of elite athlete demonstration and exchange sessions will be held in March for athletes taking part in the 4th Hong Kong Games (HKG) to enhance their sports skills and give them a confidence boost as they gear up their training to aim at winning for their districts in the Games.
The 4th HKG, to be held from April 27 to June 2, is a territory-wide major multi-sport event held biennially with the 18 districts as participating units. During the games period, more than 3 000 district athletes will take part in eight competitions, namely athletics, badminton, basketball, table tennis, swimming, tennis, futsal and volleyball.
During these demonstration and exchange sessions, the National Sports Associations (NSAs) of the relevant sports will arrange for elite athletes to demonstrate their skills to the HKG athletes, including basic techniques and proper practising methods. Coaches of Hong Kong teams will also give talks and advice on training. HKG athletes are welcome to ask them questions to learn how to develop their own strategies. During these sessions, HKG athletes can also play with the elite athletes in friendly matches to improve their skills and sharpen their competitiveness.
Demonstration sessions on swimming and futsal were held last month. The demonstration and exchange sessions on the remaining six sports - volleyball, basketball, tennis, athletics, table tennis and badminton - will be held on March 9, 16 and 23. HKG athletes are encouraged to attend these sessions with their families and friends. Interested members of the public are also welcome at these sessions.
