Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Hung Hom this morning (February 5) in which a 79-year-old woman was killed.
At about 9.04am today, a public light bus (PLB) driven by a 73-year-old man was travelling along Ma Hang Chung Road north bound. When reaching near Pau Chung Street, it reportedly knocked down the 79-year-old female pedestrian.
Sustaining serious injuries to lower part of her body, she was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in unconscious state where she was certified dead at 9.54am.
The PLB driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and is being detained for enquiries.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Kowloon West are underway.
