The Transport Department today (February 4) reminded passengers who intend to cross the boundary during the Lunar New Year holiday to plan their journeys in advance and to travel by rail via the Lo Wu or Lok Ma Chau Spur Line control points as far as possible.
"Many passengers are expected to travel via the Lok Ma Chau Control Point or Shenzhen Bay Port during the holiday period. Passengers are advised to make their journeys during non-peak hours," a department spokesman said.
"The waiting time for cross-boundary coach services may be longer than usual if traffic at the control points is busy. Passengers should observe order and heed advice from the on-site Police and staff of cross-boundary coach companies," he said.
The spokesman advised passengers to keep track of the latest traffic news broadcasts.
