The theme of World Wetlands Day 2013 is wetlands and water management, with an aim of raising awareness of the interdependence of wetlands and water. Hong Kong Wetland Park's reed bed provides a good example of the ecological interdependence of wetland systems. It helps maintain the water quality in the freshwater marshes by trapping suspended solids and absorbing excess nutrients in the water.   Close
