Police will implement special traffic arrangements in Wan Chai and Central District on November 18 to facilitate the holding of a public procession.
The following traffic arrangements will be implemented from about 9.45am onwards until the crowd has dispersed:
A.Road Closure
- Westbound Hennessy Road between Luard Road and Johnston Road;
- Rodney Street;
- Eastbound Queensway will be intermittently closed;
- Westbound Harcourt Road between Harcourt Garden car park exit and Tamar Street;
- The fast lanes of westbound Harcourt Road between Tamar Street and Cotton Tree Drive;
- Eastbound Harcourt Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Tim Mei Avenue;
- Southbound Tim Wa Avenue (except vehicles heading for Chief Executive Office and Central Government Offices car park); and
- Southbound Edinburgh Place between Lung Wo Road and Connaught Road Central.
B.Traffic Diversion
- Traffic along westbound Hennessy Road must turn right to northbound Luard Road;
- Traffic along southbound Fenwick Street is prohibited from turning right to westbound Hennessy Road;
- Traffic along westbound Harcourt Road outside of Harcourt Garden car park exit will be diverted to Harcourt Road leading to westbound Harcourt Road flyover;
- Traffic along eastbound Harcourt Road must turn right to southbound Cotton Tree Drive;
- Traffic along northbound Cotton Tree Drive will be diverted to northbound Tim Wa Avenue;
- Traffic along Lung Wo Road will be prohibited from entering Tim Wa Avenue (except vehicles heading for Chief Executive Office and Central Government Offices car park); and
- Traffic along Lung Wo Road will be prohibited from entering southbound Edinburgh Place.
C.Suspension of Bus Stops
All bus stops along westbound Hennessy Road between Luard Road and Johnston Road, Rodney Street, and Admiralty (East) Public Transport Interchange will be suspended from about 9.30am until the crowd has dispersed.
D.Restriction on access to / exit from car parks
All car parks along westbound Hennessy Road between O¡¦Brien Road and Johnston Road, and Rodney Street will be closed from about 10am onwards until the crowd has dispersed. Vehicles will not be permitted to leave or access the car parks along the procession routes during the road closure period.
Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above might be towed away without prior notice.
Actual implementation of special traffic arrangements will be made depending on traffic conditions in the areas. Motorists are advised to drive with care and patience and follow the instruction of the Police at scene.
