********************************************************

The Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) announced today (October 30) that a public auction for stalls at the 2013 Che Kung Festival Fair will be held on November 14.

The annual fair will be held for 18 days from February 7 to 24, 2013 at Chui Tin Street Soccer Pitch in Sha Tin. The opening prices for the 44 dry goods stalls and four wet goods stalls are $3,720 and $890 respectively.

The auction will begin at 9.30am on November 14 at Wo Che Community Hall, Wo Che Estate, Sha Tin. The dry goods stalls will be auctioned first, followed by the wet goods stalls.

Bidders must be at least 18 years old and ordinary residents in Hong Kong.

Anyone can bid for more than one stall. After successfully bidding for a stall, the bidder must immediately pay the bid price and register in his or her own name as the licensee of the stall. The bidder is also required to sign at once an express warranty and a licence agreement with the FEHD, or will forfeit the rights to operate the stall.

Stall licensees should not mutilate, destroy, damage or abandon any unsold commodities at or in the vicinity of their stalls. They shall completely remove the stall structure and all paraphernalia, together with all refuse, debris and unsold commodities (whether damaged or otherwise) from the licensed area before 10pm on February 24, 2013. They may surrender those unsold flowers and plants left behind at the stall to the department at no charge, cost or compensation whatsoever, before the said time.
