On the announcement by the Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, today (October 17) regarding the appointment of two new members to the Executive Council (ExCo), the Convenor of the Non-official Members of the ExCo, Mr Lam Woon-kwong, issued the following statement:
"On behalf of my non-official colleagues of the Executive Council, I would like to extend our warmest welcome to Mr Jeffrey Lam and Mrs Regina Ip whose appointments to the Council have just been announced by the Chief Executive.
"As members of the Legislative Council, Mr Lam and Mrs Ip display great dedication to serving the community and have rich experience in public service. Having them joining the ExCo will help the Council reflect public views more thoroughly when assisting the Chief Executive in formulating policies."
