Japan's ultra-hip Wrecking Crew Orchestra (WCO), which tops the street dance scene in Asia, will come to Hong Kong in November to perform "FAKEST". Almost 60 talented artists will present the ultimate street art celebration of the new generation, showcasing creative versatility and bursting with youthful passion for life.

"FAKEST" performed by the WCO is one of the programmes of the New Vision Arts Festival organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. It will be staged on November 8 and 10 at the Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium.

The WCO has established a mind-blowing style of its own, successfully transferring street art's boundless vitality and amazing stamina to the stage. Formed in 2003, the group's extraordinary hip hop dance art has broken the barriers of age, gender, nationality, language and culture, and explodes with imaginative moves and passion, causing a sensation across Japan. Featuring dancers clad in light suits that merge electroluminescent technology and popular culture, the group has also swept across the globe via the Internet, with their online video receiving more than 3 million views on YouTube in the first month of its release.

The WCO has eight core members - Yokoi, Dominique, Hanai, Take, Shohei, Bon, Sawada and U.U. Each contributes their own artistic vision while working dynamically together as a group. In the coming performance in Hong Kong, the team will be joined by almost 50 of Japan's top street dance talents in the newly choreographed "FAKEST" - the title meaning the world's best imitation.

The programme showcases the new generation's carefree yet innovative lifestyle. Overflowing with creativity, the spirited dance numbers synchronise with the music, visualise the music, and finally become one with the music. Interspersed with "Tron"-like choreography between different routines, the performance delivers a fascinating futuristic experience.

The WCO's eight core members will hit the streets after their matinee performance at 3pm on November 10, jamming with local hip hop dancers and spectators in "Hip Hop Up Close" at Kwai Tsing Theatre Plaza. Admission is free.

Extending the street dance buzz in Hong Kong, the WCO will give an additional performance in the free programme "Community Thematic Carnival - Breezy Sai Kung" at Sai Kung Waterfront Park on November 11 at 3pm.

"FAKEST" performed by the WCO will be staged on November 8 at 8pm and November 10 at 3pm and 8pm at Kwai Tsing Theatre Auditorium. Tickets priced at $360, $280, $200 and $130 are now available at URBTIX.
