HAD's response to media enquiries
*********************************

In response to media enquiries today (October 9) on the "Rules to Observe" for the flag-raising ceremony held on the National Day, the Home Affairs Department gave the following response:

The "Rules to Observe" for the National Day flag-raising ceremony was devised by the Government in 2003. It had been displayed at the event venue and at various entry points every year on the event day for the reference of the participants. This year it was also displayed at various points in the venue.

According to the "Rules to Observe", any person who acts in a disruptive manner or otherwise disturbs the ceremony will be asked to leave. As there were people acting in a disruptive manner at the venue of the ceremony on October 1, they were asked to leave in accordance with the rules.
