Following is the transcript of remarks by the Secretary for Development, Mr Paul Chan, today (September 20) on the North East New Territories New Development Areas project:
Reporter: Could you please explain more about the resettlement plan that may involve $40 billion?
Secretary for Development: The amount I just gave includes resettlement and compensation. The details have to be approved by the Executive Council. For the details, I am sorry that at this moment I cannot release.
Reporter: Will the compensation plan, like what you said during the programme, be similar or even better than the compensation plan before and the Choi Yuen Village case?
Secretary for Development: That is the principle that we have been adopting.
