FS attends APEC CEO Summit (with photos)

     The Financial Secretary, Mr John C Tsang, outlined the strategies on "Making cities fit for business, their people and the planet" when addressing the plenary discussion of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2012 CEO Summit in Vladivostok, Russia, today (September 8).

     In the afternoon, Mr Tsang attended the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting to discuss with APEC leaders how to promote long-term growth through free and open trade and investment as well as the ways to improve global supply chains for the benefit of all member economies. Mr Tsang also joined part of discussion with the APEC Business Advisory Council.

     At the margin of APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, Mr Tsang conveyed the demands of the victims and surviving families of the Manila hostage incident to the President of the Philippines, Mr Benigno Aquino III.  Later in the evening, Mr Tsang also reflected the demands to the Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines, Mr Albert F Del Rosario.

     This was followed by a dinner hosted by the President of Russia Federation, Mr Vladimir Putin.
