Government spokesman stated there has been no delay in arranging meeting
*******************************************************

The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung, sent letters of invitation to the Alliance Against National Education at about 5pm yesterday inviting them for a meeting.

The Alliance requested the meeting should be conducted in an open manner and should allow media coverage. The Chief Executive's Office has no problem with this request. However, the Alliance has raised three pre-set conditions for the meeting and hence the meeting has not been arranged so far.

The Chief Executive has met with groups and individuals from the education sector in the past two days to consult their views on settling the present controversies. The Chief Executive said that he is still willing to meet with the Alliance and other concern groups under no pre-set conditions.
