The Education Bureau (EDB) has published a pamphlet titled "Moral and National Education Subject - Useful Tips for Parents (Volume 1): An Overview" to enhance parents' understanding of the Moral and National Education (MNE) Subject.

An EDB spokesman said today (September 6), "The pamphlet, the first of a planned series, is designed to help parents better understand the aims of the MNE subject as well as to explain its contents, learning and teaching strategies, assessment and arrangements for implementation.

"It is also hoped that this series of pamphlets will encourage communication between schools and parents on the MNE subject.

"A total of 1,500,000 copies of Volume 1 of the pamphlet have been printed for all Government, Aided, Caput and Direct Subsidy Scheme Primary, Secondary and Special Schools to be distributed to teachers and parents.

"Schools have been informed to collect the required quantity of pamphlets from the respective EDB Regional Education Offices."

The pamphlet has also been uploaded onto the EDB website at www.edb.gov.hk/mne-e/parent-usefultips . Copies are available for collection at the EDB's Central Resources Centre and the Hong Kong Teachers' Centre. Members of the public can also obtain the pamphlet from the District Offices (from September 10) and Public Libraries (from mid-September).
