SHA cheers for HK athletes at London Paralympics (with photo)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, watched competitions at the London 2012 Paralympic Games yesterday (August 30) and cheered for the Hong Kong athletes, as well as meeting the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Mr Jeremy Hunt.

     After watching the table tennis competitions at the international exhibition and convention centre, ExCeL London, Mr Tsang commended the Hong Kong athletes for their perseverance and outstanding performance. He encouraged them to continue to do their best, bringing glory to themselves and Hong Kong.

     He also toured around the Olympic Park Velodrome and met with the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, Mr Jeremy Hunt, to exchange views on issues such as promotion in culture and sports as well as to share experience in hosting the Games.
 
     He will go to the Olympic Park Aquatics Centre to cheer for the Hong Kong swimming team this morning (August 31), and pledge his support to the Hong Kong equestrian athlete in the afternoon. He will also attend a lunch to be hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, Mr David Wootton.

     Mr Tsang will conclude his London visit today and return to Hong Kong tomorrow (September 1).
