SHA continues London visit (with photos)

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, continued his London visit yesterday (August 29), meeting with political figures and the business community as well as attending the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

     In the afternoon, Mr Tsang called on the Minister of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Mr Jeremy Browne, to exchange views on ways to enhance exchange and co-operation between the two places. He also met with representatives from UK Trade & Investment and financial consultants to learn about the financing strategy and arrangements involved in building the Olympic venues.

     In the evening, Mr Tsang represented the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government in attending a cocktail reception and opening ceremony for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

     Mr Tsang earlier met with representatives from various cultural organisations in London including the British Council, the English National Opera and the Royal Academy of Arts, to exchange views on the development of and collaboration in arts and culture between the two places.

     He also attended a lunch reception hosted for the cultural sector at which he delivered a speech on the development of arts and culture in Hong Kong, including the West Kowloon Cultural District Project. In addition he attended a reception hosted by the Riding for the Disabled Association.

     Mr Tsang will watch competitions at the Paralympic Games and cheer for the Hong Kong athletes today and tomorrow.
