Paying your government bills is about to become even easier, as members of the public will be able to make payment for 14 designated government bills at more than 1,000 convenience stores across the city from August 1.
A government spokesman said today (July 31) that since February 1, the water bill payment network had been expanded to cover convenience stores under a pilot scheme. As the operation has been smooth, the Government has decided to extend the service to other 13 government bills.
From August 1, members of the public will be able to pay the following bills in cash at 7-Eleven Convenience Stores, Circle K Convenience Stores, VanGO Convenience Stores and China Resources Vanguard Supermarkets in Hong Kong:

The maximum limit for each transaction is HK$5,000.
The spokesman reminded the public that after paying a bill, they should carefully check the details on the receipt, including the bill reference number as well as the date, time and amount of payment, and keep the receipt for record.
The public can still pay the above government bills in person at the 126 post offices, or through internet banking, PPS (by phone or Internet) or by post. They can also make payment for some government bills through autopay, automatic teller machines, or at designated venues specified on the bills. The public may approach relevant departments for details.
