Land Registry statistics for first half of 2012

     The Land Registry today (July 5) released its statistics for the first half of 2012.  

Land registration
-----------------

* The number of sale and purchase agreements for all building units received for registration for the first half of 2012 was 54,822 (+42.5 per cent compared with the second half of 2011 but -22.1 per cent compared with the first half of 2011).

* The total consideration for these agreements for the first half of 2012 was $310.25 billion (+42.5 per cent compared with the second half of 2011 but -16.2 per cent compared with the first half of 2011).

* The number of assignments of building units for the first half of 2012 was 50,784 (-19.2 per cent compared with the second half of 2011 and -41.2 per cent compared with the first half of 2011).

* The total consideration for these assignments for the first half of 2012 was $226.52 billion (-29.7 per cent compared with the second half of 2011 and -42.2 per cent compared with the first half of 2011).

Land search
-----------

* The number of searches of land registers made by the public for the first half of 2012 was 2,457,420 (+8.5 per cent compared with the second half of 2011 but -15 per cent compared with the first half of 2011).
