The Chief Executive-elect's Office (CEEO) announced today (June 30) that the Appointment Committee has appointed two Under Secretaries of the fourth term of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government.
After considering the Under Secretary candidates provided by the selection committee for the posts of Under Secretaries and Political Assistants and upon completion of the selection process, the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury and the Secretary for Home Affairs have recommended Ms Julia Leung Fung-yee and Ms Florence Hui Hiu-fai to be the Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury and the Under Secretary for Home Affairs respectively. The Appointment Committee has approved the recommendations.
The spokesman for the CEEO said, "The selection committee for the posts of Under Secretaries and Political Assistants has identified at least two suitable Under Secretary candidates for each bureau (except the Civil Service Bureau) for selection by respective Directors of Bureaux.
"The selection process of Under Secretaries for the remaining bureaux is still in progress. Announcement will be made in due course."
