Additional performance of puppet theatre "Happy Days Toy Shop"
*********************************************************

An additional performance of the puppet theatre "Happy Days Toy Shop" has been scheduled for July 14 in response to overwhelming public demand. Tickets will be available from June 27 (Wednesday) at URBTIX.

Produced by Fantasy Puppet Theatre, "Happy Days Toy Shop" is one of the programmes of the large-scale summer festival International Arts Carnival, presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The story begins at Uncle Kai's old-fashioned Happy Days Toy Shop, which is having a closing sale. Only then do the neighbourhood children notice its existence. Situated in a dimly lit tenement with a ceiling fan, outdated toys, and a big, fat cat at the entrance, the shop is usually ignored by today's e-toy generation. But to their great surprise, three children's joyful fantasies come to life in this forgotten place.

The Happy Days Toy Shop takes you back to the days when most people lacked material wealth but still found happiness. With tailor-made puppets, memorable music and backdrops, this show offers a nostalgic reflection of the 1960s, one filled with empathy and human warmth.

The additional performance of "Happy Days Toy Shop" will be held at 3pm on July 14 at Sha Tin Town Hall Cultural Activities Hall, with tickets priced at $160. The shows will be conducted in Cantonese.

Half-price tickets are available for full-time students, senior citizens, people with disabilities and their minders, and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. Booking discounts of up to 20 per cent are available for full-price performing arts/film programmes.

Programme brochures are available at URBTIX outlets or at the carnival website www.hkiac.gov.hk .

For programme enquiries, please call 2370 1044. Internet bookings can be made at www.urbtix.hk . Telephone credit card bookings can be made on 2111 5999.

The venue and ticketing services of this additional performance are sponsored by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
