Southern District "Fun under Sun" community carnival at Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park this Sunday

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will hold the Southern District "Fun under Sun" carnival, one of the Community Thematic Carnival series, at Ap Lei Chau Wind Tower Park this Sunday (June 10) from 2.30pm to 6pm, featuring a variety of performances and entertainment for the public. Admission to all programmes is free.

     The programme includes performances by pop singers James Ng and Hubert Wu, a local choir, puppet theatres and Capoeira - an amazing mix of martial arts, music and dance from Brazil. Other entertainment includes a bagpipe performance, magic, rope skipping, street dance and beatbox performances.

     In addition to a display board explaining the development of Southern District, carnival-goers may also enjoy the fun of art jamming, workshops and interactive games stalls.

     Free shuttle ferry and van services are provided to help members of the public get to the carnival. Details are as follows:
1. Free Shuttle Ferry
   Time: 2.15pm to 5.45pm (every 5 to 8 minutes)
   Pick up place: Piers outside Aberdeen Promenade/
                  Wholesale Fish Market

2. Free Shuttle Van
   Time: 2.15pm to 5.45pm (every 10 to 15 minutes)
   Pick up place: Outside Tung Yip House, Lei Tung
                  Estate and outside Lei Chak House,
                  Ap Lei Chau Estate
