Draft Urban Renewal Authority Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Development Scheme Plan approved
*******************************************************

The Chief Executive in Council has approved the draft Urban Renewal Authority (URA) Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Development Scheme Plan (DSP).

"The approved DSP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the implementation of the URA Staunton Street/Wing Lee Street Development Scheme," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (May 18).

The Development Scheme Area, covering about 2,034 square metres, is generally bounded by Staunton Street, Shing Wong Street, Wa In Fong East and Aberdeen Street.

The area is zoned as "Comprehensive Development Area", which is intended for comprehensive development/redevelopment of the area for residential and/or commercial uses with the provision of open space and other supporting facilities. The zoning aims to achieve environmental improvement through comprehensive redevelopment, restructuring the street pattern, promoting efficient land use and providing community facilities/public open space.

The approved DSP No. S/H3/URA1/4 is now available for public inspection during office hours at the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Hong Kong District Planning Office and the Central and Western District Office.

Copies of the approved DSP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
