This qipao was worn by Mrs Anson Chan in 1998 at a banquet during her visit to the United States when she made her first overseas trip as Hong Kong's Chief Secretary for Administration. The qipao's fabric was purchased in Hong Kong while its embroidered trimmings were taken from clothes belonging to Mrs Chan's mother. The specially selected orange and green bindings make the qipao even more eye-catching. It is part of the Hong Kong Museum of History's collection.
