Transcript of remarks by CE-elect (with photos)
***********************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks by the Chief Executive-elect, Mr Leung Chun-ying, at a media session after meeting the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, at the Office of the Chief Executive at Tamar this morning (March 26):

The Chief Executive, Mr Tsang, had very kindly, and very, very shortly after the result of yesterday's election was announced, called me to send me a congratulatory message. I very kindly thanked Mr Tsang for his message. At the same time, I asked Mr Tsang to kindly pass on my heartfelt gratitude to all government departments and civil service colleagues who were responsible, either directly or indirectly, for the smooth organisation of the election, which again is very much part of the hallmark of the high efficiency and effectiveness of our civil service colleagues.

Today, at the meeting, I thanked Mr Tsang for his contribution to Hong Kong in the Office of the Chief Executive, and I paid him my high respect for his contribution. The Office of the CE-elect has sprung into action shortly after the result of the election was announced. And again this is very much part of the tradition of the civil service, which is one of effectiveness and very high efficiency. We will work very hard to ensure that in the next few months, the transition will work well. I am sure there will be a lot that I can learn from colleagues in various parts of the Government, including all political appointees, regarding the work of the Government. And I am sure with the help of the Chief Executive and his team, I will be able to roll out my policy initiatives based on my election manifesto. Thank you.
