The Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, Professor K C Chan, will leave for Guangzhou this afternoon (March 24) to attend the Lingnan Forum organised by the Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University.
The first Lingnan Forum, to be held tomorrow (March 25), will explore the road to the Mainland's economic reform. At the invitation of the forum chairman and Honorary Dean of Lingnan (University) College, Mr Liu Mingkang, who is also the former Chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, Professor Chan will deliver a keynote speech on the status and function of Hong Kong in the process of the internationalisation of the Renminbi.
Professor Chan will return to Hong Kong tomorrow.
