Special traffic and transport arrangements in Wan Chai North on Sunday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (March 22) reminded the public that special traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in Wan Chai North from 12.30am to 10pm on Sunday (March 25).

     The special traffic and transport arrangements mainly include:

Public transport services

1. The bus terminus at Expo Drive East will be suspended;
2. Citybus Routes 25A and 25C, and Cross Harbour Route 961 will omit Expo Drive East and terminate at Wan Chai Ferry Pier bus terminus;
3. Recreation Route H2 will omit the bus stops at Expo Drive and Expo Drive East, and be temporarily diverted; and
4. The taxi stand at Expo Drive will be suspended.

Suspension of parking spaces

1. All metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces (including disabled parking spaces) at Lung King Street will be suspended from 7pm on Saturday (March 24) to 9pm on Sunday; and
2. All metered parking spaces at Expo Drive East will be suspended from 12.30am to 10pm on Sunday.

     The TD anticipates that traffic in Wan Chai North will be congested. Motorists are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow the instructions of the Police. Members of the public planning to go to the affected area are advised to use public transport as far as possible.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures whenever necessary. Motorists and members of the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news broadcast on radio and television.
