Fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum

     Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Sum this morning (March 7) in which a 68-year-old woman was killed.

     At about 7.50am, a public light bus driven by a 67-year-old man was travelling from the public light bus terminus on Chap Wai Kon Street towards Ngan Shing Street. After negotiating the first right bend inside the terminus, it reportedly knocked down the 68-year-old woman who was crossing the road.

     The woman sustained serious head and chest injuries and was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 10.12am.
     The driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on bail and was required to report back to Police in early April.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.
